Whoever assaults or resists one of the officials responsible for the implementation of this Law by Decree shall be punished by imprisonment for a period of no less than five years and a fine of no less than one hundred thousand dirhams, while performing his job or because of it. If, along with the assault or resistance, a beating or wound occurs, the penalty shall be imprisonment for a period of no less than seven years and a fine of no less than two hundred thousand dirhams. The penalty shall be life imprisonment or imprisonment for a term of no less than ten years and a fine of no less than one hundred thousand dirhams and not more than two hundred thousand dirhams if the beating or wound results in a permanent and irreversible disability, or if the Offender at the time of the commission of the crime carried a weapon or was a man of power charged with maintaining security. If the beating or wounding leads to death, the penalty shall be death.
