Whoever among the Offender hastens to inform the judicial or administrative authorities of what he knows about them before starting to commit the crime shall be exempted from the penalties prescribed for the crimes set forth in Articles (53), (57), (58). The Court may exempt from punishment if the notification took place after the crime was committed and before the investigation began. The Court may also reduce the penalty if the Offender facilitates the arrest of one of the Offenders during the investigation or trial to the competent authorities.
