Article 179 — Article (179)

Part Six: Administrative and Financial Sanctions and Penalties · Chapter Two: Penalties

Whoever commits any of the following violations shall be punished by imprisonment and a fine of not less than five hundred thousand (500,000) Dirhams, or by either of these two punishments: 1. Provides misleading or incomplete facts, information, or data in any statements or documents presented to the Central Bank. 2. Conceals any facts from the statements, information, minutes, papers, or other documents submitted to the Central Bank or to its representatives, employees, examiners, or auditors. 3. Destroys, mutilates or alters any document relating to a matter, which is the subject of examination or investigation by the Central Bank or sends, or causes to be sent out of the State such a document. 4. Obstructs, resists, or causes the delay of the conduct of examination or investigation by the Central Bank or the provision of information to the Central Bank. 5. Acts complicitly with another Person to commit any of the acts referred to in items nos. (1) to (4) of this article.
