Article 42 — Article (42) Equivalency

Chapter Three: Marriage

1. The husband shall be equivalent to the woman at the time of concluding the marriage contract, and the loss of equivalency thereafter does not affect the contract. Equivalency is a right for both the woman and her guardian who is fully capacitated. 2. The criterion for equivalency is the husband's religious integrity, and custom is considered in determining equivalency in matters other than religion. 3. Distant guardians have no right to object the marriage due to non-equivalency except in the absence of the closest guardian or his lack of capacity.
