1. Once the Accused is arrested or brought and before his / her statements are heard, the Judicial Police Officer shall inform the Accused of the criminal charge brought against him / her and of his / her right to remain silent. If the Accused fails to furnish evidence of his / her innocence, he shall be sent, within [48] forty-eight hours to the competent Public Prosecution. 2. The Public Prosecution shall question the Accused within [24] twenty-four hours, and shall then order that the same be either remanded in custody or released.
