1. The chief justice of the competent criminal court shall, when the case file is referred thereto, order that the Defendant and the witnesses be notified of the day scheduled for hearing the case, and the Public Prosecution shall subpoena them. 2. In the event that there are serious reasons for adjournment of the case, it shall be adjourned to a fixed date.
