Article 190 — Chapter 2: Special Procedures for Misdemeanor and Infraction Courts: Article (190) Judgment in Absentia or in Presence

1. In case the party duly summoned neither appears on the day specified in the notice to appear, nor is represented by an attorney in the cases permitted by law, the court shall adjudicate on the case in absentia. 2. In the event that the case is instituted against several persons for the same act, and any of them has appeared before the court and others failed to appear, the court shall adjourn the case to a subsequent hearing in order to re-serve those who failed to appear. The judgment shall be rendered in the presence of all of them.
