1. A guardian may, with the permission of the court, mortgage the property of a minor or interdicted person to secure a debt owed by either of them to a third party. 2. A guardian may not mortgage their own property to secure a debt owed by the minor or interdicted person, nor mortgage the property of either to secure a debt owed thereto.
