With due regard to the provisions of the Personal Status Law: 1. A father may mortgage his own property in favor of his minor child. In the absence of the father, the paternal grandfather may mortgage his own property in favor of that minor. 2. If a father has a debt owed to him by the minor child, he may take a mortgage over the child's property in his own favor. 3. A father or paternal grandfather may mortgage the minor's property to secure a debt owed by the minor. 4. A father may mortgage the property of one of his minor children to secure a debt owed by the latter to another of his minor children. 5. Neither the father nor the paternal grandfather may mortgage the minor’s property to secure a debt owed by the father or grandfather to a third party. 6. The permission of the court shall be obtained in the cases referred to in Paragraphs (1), (2), (3), and (4) of this Article.
