Article 1227

1. The owner of a movable or a bearer instrument may, if they lose it or it is stolen from them, recover it from a person possessing it in good faith within three (3) years from the time of the loss or theft. 2. If the lost or stolen thing is found in the possession of a person who purchased it in good faith in a market, at a public auction, or from one who trades in similar items, such person may require the claimant to reimburse the price paid.
