Article 30 — Article (30)

Chapter Twelve: Penalties

1. Any person who possesses, conceals, or conducts any Transaction in Funds where there are sufficient indications or evidence suggesting the illegitimacy of their source, or the concealment of the Beneficial Owner thereof, shall be punished by imprisonment for a period not less than three (3) months and a fine of not less than fifty thousand dirhams (AED 50,000), or by either of these two penalties. 2. Any person who promotes, offers for sale, provides services, or deals in Virtual Assets characterized by total anonymity, or that prevent or obstruct the ability of the Competent Authorities to trace the Transaction or its parties, or any unlicensed accounts or technologies allowing such concealment, shall be punished by imprisonment for a period not less than three (3) months and a fine of not less than fifty thousand dirhams (AED 50,000), or by either of these two penalties. 3. Upon conviction, the Court shall order Confiscation in accordance with the provisions of Article (31) hereof.
