1.The court shall assess the implications of the material defects in an instrument in terms of invalidating it or diminishing its probative value, and may admit all or some of the content of such instrument. 2.If the validity of the instrument is in doubt for the court, then it may, on its own, subpoena its issuer or the person who executed it to give an explanation of the truth of the matter.
