Article 16 — Article (16) Using Electronic Systems to Commit Crimes and to Conceal Evidence

Chapter One: Crimes Against Information Technology

Any person who possesses, acquires, prepares, designs, produces, imports, makes available, or uses any information program, information technology mean, passcodes, or codes, or uses encryption, with the intent to commit any of the crimes stipulated in this Decree-Law, conceal their evidence or traces, or prevent their detection, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term of not less than two (2) years and/or a fine of not less than AED (200,000) two hundred thousand dirhams and not exceeding AED (1,000,000) one million dirhams.
