Article 195 — Article (195) Duties of Court-Appointed Attorney

1. The attorney, assigned by the court or appointed by the Defendant, shall defend the latter at the hearings or delegate someone else to represent him, failing which, he shall be condemned to a fine not exceeding [AED 1,000] one thousand dirhams, without prejudice to the disciplinary trial, if applicable. The Judgment of fine shall be final. 2. The court may relieve him of the fine if it is established that he has had an acceptable excuse that prevented him from attending the hearing in person or delegating someone else to act on his behalf.
