No person shall be held responsible for a crime that is not the result of his criminal activity, but he shall be held responsible for the crime even if his criminal activity contributed in its occurrence with another preceding, contemporary, or subsequent, whenever such cause is expected or probable according to the normal course of events. However, if said cause is sufficient in itself to produce the effects of the crime, said person shall in this case be held responsible only for his own act.
