A penalty of incarceration for a period not exceeding two years and a fine not exceeding (10,000) ten thousand AED shall be imposed on anyone who compels the adversary party in a civil matter to take oath or to whom oath is reverted and commits perjury. The perpetrator shall be exempted from the penalty if he says the truth after committing perjury and before the issuance of a judgment on the lawsuit in which perjury has been committed.
