If there are both aggravating circumstances and extenuating excuses or circumstances in one crime, the court shall apply first the aggravating circumstances, then the extenuating excuses and finally the extenuating circumstances. However, if the aggravating circumstances and the excuses produce different effects, the court may let the stronger of both prevail.
