1. The Drawer or Bearer of the Cheque may stipulate that it is not to be paid in cash by writing the phrase (To be Credited to the Account) or any other phrase denoting this meaning. In this case, the Drawee may only settle the value of the Cheque by making entries in their books, in lieu of payment. 2. Striking off the statement "To be Credited to the Account" shall not be legally valid. 3. If the Drawee does not comply with the aforementioned provisions, they shall be liable to compensate the damage in a sum not exceeding the value of the Cheque.
