1. Payment by intervention shall be established by writing a clearance on the bill of exchange, stating the name of the party in whose interest the payment was effected, otherwise, the payment by intervention shall be deemed to be made in favor of the drawer. 2. The bill of exchange and the protest, if made, shall be surrendered to the person who paid by intervention.
