1. The rights and obligations arising from the carriage contract shall neither be established for nor be binding on the consignee, unless he accepts such rights and obligations either expressly or implicitly. 2. The receipt by the consignee of the bill of lading or of the item intended for carriage, as well as his requiring to deliver the same to him or to issue instructions in this respect, shall be deemed as an implicit acceptance of rights and obligations arising from the carriage contract.
