1. Proprietors of hotels and similar establishments shall, with respect to the duty of care incumbent upon them for the safekeeping of the property brought by travellers and guests, be liable even for acts committed by persons frequenting the establishment. 2. Proprietors of hotels shall not be liable in respect of money, negotiable instruments, or valuable items, unless they have received them for safekeeping, or have unjustifiably refused to receive them therefor, or unless the damage has occurred as a result of fault on their part or on the part of one of their employees.
