1. Sharecropping is a contract under which agricultural land is exploited jointly between the provider of the land and another party who undertakes its cultivation, on the basis that the produce shall be shared between them in the agreed-upon shares. 2. Subject to the following provisions, the provisions governing lease contract shall apply to sharecropping, unless there is an agreement or custom to the contrary.
