1. If entitlement is claimed after the subject matter of the sale has perished while in the purchaser's possession, the purchaser shall be liable to the entitled party for its value as at the date of sale, and shall have recourse against the seller for the price. 2. If the value for which the purchaser is liable exceeds the agreed price, they shall be entitled to recover the difference, along with compensation for damages due under Clause (5) of Article (487) of this Law.
