Substantially updates administered-arbitration rules on notices and time limits, request and response content, appointment and independence of arbitrators, language and seat, jurisdiction objections, electronic signature and institutional scrutiny of awards, ordinary and expedited timetables, costs and arbitrator-fee schedules. Expedited procedure generally covers claims up to OMR 1,000,000, with an award ordinarily due within three months of tribunal formation.

Scope and exclusions
Applies to
Applies where parties agree to arbitration under the Oman Commercial Arbitration Centre Rules; ordinarily the version in force when arbitration begins applies unless the parties choose the version in force when their agreement was made.
Limitations and exclusions
Does not replace the arbitration agreement, applicable substantive and procedural law, mandatory law at the seat or court recognition and enforcement procedures. Expedited treatment does not follow solely and automatically from claim value; party agreement and the Centre's determination also operate in the cases specified by the Rules.
