Article 230 — Chapter 2: Appeal: Article (230) Appealing the First Instance Court's Judgments

1. The Defendant and the Public Prosecution may each appeal against the judgments rendered on the criminal action by the courts of first instance. 2. Appealing a judgment shall not give rise to a stay of its execution, unless otherwise decided by the Court of Appeal according to the conditions it considers appropriate. 3. The judgment imposing death penalty sentence shall be deemed appealed by operation of law and its execution is stayed.
