1. A transport commission agency is a contract under which the agent undertakes, in return for a commission paid by the principal, to conclude a transport contract in the agent's own name and for the principal's account and, where required, to carry out operations connected with that transport. In relation to the consignor, the transport commission agent shall have the same status as the carrier. 2. If the commission agent carries out the transport by its own means, the provisions governing transport contracts shall apply unless otherwise agreed.
