Article 533

1. If the owner ratifies the sale, the contract shall become effective with respect thereto and binding with respect to the purchaser. The contract shall likewise become effective if ownership of the subject matter of the sale passes to the seller after the conclusion of the contract. 2. If the purchaser was unaware that the subject matter of the sale was not owned by the seller at the time the contract was concluded, the purchaser may demand the annulment of the contract and claim compensation, even if the seller was in good faith.
