Oman Bonds and Sukuk Regulation

Regulates the issue, offer, placement, listing and disclosure of bonds and sukuk, including green, sustainable and waqf instruments. It repealed the former Sukuk Regulation 3/2016.

Scope and exclusions

Applies to

Covers bonds and sukuk issued by issuers or beneficiaries in Oman, public and private placements, rights offers and their promotion in Oman; instruments issued in Oman are subject to the Regulation's listing requirements.

Limitations and exclusions

Does not apply to government bonds or sukuk, or to CBO short-term instruments of no more than one year issued to CBO-supervised entities for monetary-policy or liquidity-management purposes. It does not replace the Securities Law or listing rules.
